Los Alamitos Thoroughbred: Friday 9/11

After a very good opening day, let's see if Friday's card can give us a few more winners.

Today's Picks:

Race 1:  7-5-1

#7 Kingsbury comes off back-to-back victories during the night program and he looks sharp coming into this race. The outside post should allow him to cross over and try to take this field from gate to wire.

Race 2:  4-1-5

#4 Elimination Round brings somewhat of a consistency to a field that lacks any standouts. A repeat effort of her last two races should have her in a great position turning for home.

Race 3:  9-6-5

#9 Black Tie missed by a head last time out at Del Mar against a similar field. He's got previous experience over this track and any of his last three efforts make him the one to beat.

Race 4:  3-2-4

#3 I Will Score has been stabled here at Los Alamitos and has recorded all of his works over this surface. He looks ready to go.

Race 5:  2-1-3

#2 Jonny's Choice has finished in the trifecta in his last three dirt tries. He's got enough speed to set the pace or stay close to the leaders. His last win was at this distance.

Race 6:  5-10-2

#5 Hijiki comes from a barn that can get the ready to win first time out. Her latest workouts indicate that she might show good early speed and that might be enough to take them gate to wire.

Race 7:  10-6-4

#10 Harbaugh takes a big drop in class and stretches back out to a route from a sprint. One of his two lifetime wins was around two turns. He's been training over this track looks to be in a good spot to get him another win.

Race 8:  7-1-3

#7 Zenergy debuts for the Bob Baffert barn which had a very nice debut winner on opening day. There isn't any monsters in this field and if this filly can show any of the speed her sire Zensational used to have, she might be long gone.
I watch horses run around.
