Ed Burke Million Trials

The first million-dollar futurity of the year has arrived. 92 two-year-olds will compete in eleven trials in hopes of becoming one of the ten fastest qualifiers at the end of the night. Those ten fastest qualifiers will return in two weeks to compete in the $1,060,000 final.

All eyes will be on Kindergarten Futurity winner Wicked Affair who will go in Trial 6.

Striver, who finished second in the Kindergarten, will go in Trial 7.

My lock of night will be #2 Hot Little Kiddy in Trial 8. She was nervous at the gate, was off slow, got bumped from both sides, altered paths and finished with big strides behind horses when fourth in debut. Factoring all the trouble and considering how well she finished, I think she's going to love the 350 yards.

We have a very fun episode of the podcast this week with Ed Burgart. We talk about his days at UCLA, his first call ever, the call he wishes he could have back, a few of his favorite horses over the years and much more. It was a fun interview. We also analyze all of the Trials for Sunday night. Give it a listen and subscribe for future episodes.
