Santa Anita Park Thursday 3/31/16

Thursday's Selections:

Race 1:  7-5-2

#7 Warren's Wesley ran out of ground last time out to just miss for the win. I like the outside post and the stretch out.

Race 2:  3-2-1

#3 Stipend is only making her fourth turf start and only her second try at this distance. She finished a good second over a mile on the turf last year and I think she will improve in her second start of 2016.

Race 3:  7-5-9

#7 Flashy Gold makes her debut in a field without many standouts. I like the series of workouts at today's distance.

Race 4:  2-4-6

#2 Tribal Jewel was no match for the winner last time out but he did finish over four lengths clear of the third place finisher. Bejarano wins at a solid clip when he rides for this trainer.

Race 5:  7-3-1

#7 Little Bit Lovely has been showing speed while going long on the turf and I like when horses with his style switch to the downhill turf course. Second time out for this barn and first time Flavien Prat can't hurt either. #ThePratEffect

Race 6:  1-7-4

#1 He Will has not been seen since finishing last in a similar spot at Del Mar last summer. We know he can fire fresh given his debut win in April of last year.

Race 7:  4-6-5

#4 Peggy Sue's Loose has been running consistent efforts in her last five outings. She can be on the lead or she can stalk and that should have her in good position throughout. I like the first off the claim angle with Ron Ellis.

Race 8:  8-5-1

#8 Gymnast Jadie has some early speed and Rafael Bejarano returns to ride this filly in a maiden claimer on the last race of the day. I think she will take them gate to wire.

I watch horses run around.
