The first graded stakes race of the winter meet at Los Alamitos drew a compact but competitive field of six fillies and mares. I like the chances of #5 Warren's Veneda at odds of 6-1. I think she's coming into this race in good form and the pace might set up well for her. I will key her in the trifecta. Not only is he dropping in class, he's also making his second start on the dirt against a field that doesn't have tons of depth. He has two workouts since his last race and has been training over this track all along. I think he will show more speed today.
