Hola Amigos,
By now the entire racing world is thinking of what could have been if I'll Have Another would have run in tomorrow's Belmont Stakes. He was withdrawn from the race after a tendon injury in his left front foot was found on him. Reddam and O'Neill announced that I'll Have Another will be retired. Guess we will have to wait another year for a new triple crown trail to begin. The task on hand tonight is the early pick four at Los Alamitos. First post is 7:15pm with Hollywood Park set to start at 7:05pm (check TheRacingEdition.com for my Hol picks). The early pick four at Los Alamitos looks easy to me today and an economic ticket of $16 is what i will invest and try to make a profit and a good night's worth of entertainment. Let's get to the action.
Race 1: If there is one race where i could have gone deeper it would have been this one but i will only use two runners. #6 Dixie Hawks has run some consistent races of late and has good speed from the outside that will allow Dionicio Navarro to establish good position. I also really liked how #7 Melanistic (top pick) broke her maiden last out in a fast time for the level while earning a good figure that fits with these. Lightly raced, and can improve more out of that last effort.
Race 2: Chalk. I cannot see #1 Secretly Hot getting beat. Talented, experience, rail post, bred to be a runner.
Race 3: Chalk. #5 Giuseppe G. Have supported this gelding in his last two starts against tougher fields (ran 2nd both times) and now goes first off the claim for a trainer that wins at 33% with that move. He is the only runner that has shown consistency in his recent starts. Should win.
Race 4: This race is a good field of hard-knocking claimers and i will press the all button and enjoy the race.
