Giuseppe let me introduce you to Guce

Hola Amigos,

Welcome to Sunday racing at Los Alamitos with a first post set for 5:35 pm that concludes the racing week. Los amigos across town at Betfair Hollywood Park are wrapping up their opening weekend of racing and the racing world gets anxious for the running of the Kentucky Derby this coming Saturday. A great solid field is linning up at Churchill Downs in what looks to be one of the best group of talented runners ever assembled (at least in my era, I'm in my mid twenties). It should be a great week of racing coming up this week with many tracks having some great cards and then on Sunday May 6  Los Alamitos will have the trials for the Grade 3 Kindergarden Futurity showcasing some very talented two-year olds. Great time of year to be a horse racing fan and more importantly, perfect timing for us to take new people out to the track and introduce them to this sport. Let's promote and have some fun. Let's get to tonight's early pick four.

Race 1: This race seems pretty straight forward to me and I do not see anybody other than the three top choices winning this race. I will single #5 Giuseppe G who is making his third start locally and has run a 4th and a 3rd place finish in his two tries here. There is not much speed lined up and I think the change to jockey Ramon Guce will make the difference to get this gelding to the winners circle.

Race 2: Two deep for me in this race with #1 Warrens Hot Stuff who just ran too good to lose last time when beaten a nose while running a game effort. I like him back in this spot because of his rail position and he should break in top and control the pace. My top pick however will be #4 Thunder One. This gelding is a professional with 31 in the money finishes of 51 lifetime starts with over $100,000 in earnings. His race two back will allow him to stay close and be in good position to strike.

Race 3: This is a pretty difficult race to figure out but I landed on the #7 El40. This colt has shown somewhat of good efforts in races past and now gets a top rider in Rodrigo Aceves, a small freshening and a good post to minimize trouble. Single.

Race 4: This race is by far the most competitive of the first four legs of the pick four. I will go Five deep to cover a nice but economic pick four play using #1 Gran Special SA, #2 Tough To Tell, #3 Separate Hawk, #4 Tripps C and #5 Dash Dinastia.

$10 Early Pick Four Play: 5/1,4/7/1,2,3,4,5

Good Luck!

Saturday of Stars in The Making

Hola Amigos,

Welcome to Saturday Racing at Los Alamitos where I believe that tonight we will see some very special 2-year olds showcasing their talent. Good nine race card with a $13,068 pick six carryover that starts in race 4. The early pick four last night paid very good after some slight upsets in the sequence. We have some good fields that should yield yet another great payout. Lets get to it.

Race 1: There is no stand out in this field of maidens so I will use four runners to get me through with #2 Ganboringo, #4 Price the Vice, #6 Knows Best and #7 Jam Rose Bound Sa.

Race 2: This field of maiden thoroughbreds just seems very light on talent. That being the case I will single #4 Emerald Assets who us dropping from santa anita and lures Ramon Guce to ride. This runner came off a 14 month layoff last out at santa anita while luring leading rider Joel Rosario to ride. After that kind of layoff, this runner must have worked somewhat good in the mornings to have had Rosario aboard. Its now or never against this type of field.

Race 3: I will also single in this race with #7 Just Might Go who just ran a good second in his debut last out and now faces a field that mostly consists of first time starters. Had good drills before debut and now gets an outside post and Rodrigo Aceves to ride.

Race 4: This race concludes the pick four and starts the pick six. Two deep for me in this race with the two runners from trainer Paul Jones who sends #1 Precision Diamond and #6 Rw Red Wave who both are dropping into claiming for the first time and have good numbers to make them tough to beat.

Race 5: I will single #2 Freedom Choice in this race based on the good work last out, the great runner that her sire was and a connection play. This owner and trainer connection have mainly only raced homebreds and this runners is not one of them. That makes me think they liked this runner very much in order to make a purchase and gets the main rider for their stable. They also have a homebred running in #3 and lures reading Rider Cruz Mendez so make your pick. I will single #2 Freedom Choice.

Race 6: This is a good group of thoroughbreds going four and one half furlongs. I will use two runners in this field with the honest #3 Locksmith (top pick) who has been facing tougher fields than these and running two good thirds and now comes off a small break and has enough speed to stay close within striking distance. Also throwing in the speed horse in #5 El Valentin who comes off a sharp looking win and now enters first off the claim for high percentage connections and gets a hustling rider aboard. Dangerous.

Race 7: This is a nice field of fillies making their debuts and I will go two deep with runners lined up next to each other #1 Secretly Hot (top pick) who was two bullets works and her sire was a real nice runner. Also using #2 Finding Tiny Sum with two drills that where good looking and evenly timed. Paul Jones owns and trains this runners. Watch out.

Race 8: This is a nice field of experienced runners and I will single the horse to the outside #5 Wimping. This gelding comes from a long layoff since July of 2011 but has two very good looking drills leading up to this and hails from a trainer that spots them good and lures Cruz Mendez to ride. Love his chances for a slight upset.

Race 9: Closing out the card I will use two runners with top pick being #3 First Black Magic who is going first time from Paul Jones and shows a sharp drill and gets the services of main rider Ramon Sanchez (notice he had already ridden the other Jones runner in here). Also using #5 Bonos Lucky Jeans who has been unlucky to lose her last two races but her efforts fit very well against this bunch. Lets close the night a winning one.

$8 Early Pick Four Race One: 2,4,6,7/4/7/1,6

$32 Pick Six Race Four: 1,6/2/3,5/1,2/5/3,5

$8 Late Pick Four Race Six: 3,5/1,2/5/3,5

Good Luck and Lets Get some winners.

Double The Fun For Friday

Hola Amigos,

Welcome to another Friday night of racing at Los Alamitos. Tonight also marks the first Friday of night racing across town at Betfair Hollywood Park and with both tracks running close to each other I expect a big early pick four pool here at Los Alamitos. The early pick four tonight looks very competitve and wide open for me which is great because I believe it is going to yield a big payout. I decided to take a stand in two races and spread in the other two. If my singles come through, I could be in good place to score a nice hit. Let's get to it.

Race 1: The card starts off with this field of bottom level thoroughbred maidens going four and one half furlongs. To give you an idea of what kind of difficult field this is, this field is composed of a 10 time maiden, a dropper from across town, one first time starter, three horses making their second start and one runner that has broken slow in two of her three starts. Between all of them the best finish has been a third placing across the wire. In this kind of field you either spread or single. I will single #2 Kellis Place. This filly was bet down to 5-1 in her debut where she ducked in and hit the rail while facing the boys in a troubled debut to ignore. That was at the begining of march and now comes with almost a two month break and a good maintenance drill. She is now facing the fillies and has some speed in her pedigree. This trainer-jockey combo does good and they finished a good fourth with a runner yesterday at hollywood park.

Race 2: This second race is another bottom level race for maidens going 300 yards. Spread or single. I will single with #3 Ride Torin Ride. I like that this filly has been facing much better while showing some ability and now drops in class and changes to a new trainer that has been doing good lately. She also comes into this race from a freshening since January and had a good tune up drill two weeks ago. Ready.

Race 3: Okay so now that I have my two singles out the way I will spread in the remaining two legs and catch some prices. If both singles hit, we should be looking good from here on out. I will go four deep in this race with #2 Win to Win (dropping and switching from synthetic to dirt where he has 5 wins), #3 Whya Da Whya (deserving favorite, lures Ramon Guce), #4 Ol'dogtown (dropping from Arizona, high percentage connections), and #7 Jans Antor (good effort two races back and lures good rider in Dionicio Navarro).

Race 4: I like many runners in here and can make a case for all of them so I will press the ALL button. Top picks however are #3 RGR Famous Six and #7 Mayla Bonita.

$32 Early Pick Four: 2/3/2,3,4,7/ALL

Good Luck!

Muy Caliente!

Hola amigos,

Welcome to a Sunday Evening of racing with a nine race card highlighted by a classy and talented field of 10 colts and geldings going The Kaweah Bar Handicap tonight in the last race. Today is closing day at Santa Anita Park and I am definitely going to miss the great race place and overall it was good meet across town. Opening day at Betfair Hollywood Park is upon us and hopefully the new branding brings new positive changes and improvements to the facility and the racing. Beginning with this new meet at Hollywood, I will be contributing with some work and content on the site TheRacingEdition.com and my Los Alamitos focus will still remain here at LosPonies.com. Exciting racing to look ahead with the Kentucky Derby upon us and the upcoming futurity trials at Los Alamitos in the near future. Good card today so lets get to the early pick four tonight.

Race 1: In this first race I will start with a single. I believe this is the opportunity for #5 Chocolate Caliente to show what he is made of here at Los Alamitos. He has lots of back class but his last two breaks have not been lucky for him. He was claimed last start for $5k and now drops to the bottom for $2k and his trainer and Jockey combo are winning at 45% and most important off all, his jockey is a good hustling out the gate rider. Single.

Race 2: This race is filled with lightly raced and improving horses. I will use what I believe are the four logical horses: #1 Lv Amanda First, #4 Castellammare, #6 Bw Prettyquickchick, and #7 Moonra (top pick).

Race 3: I will go three deep in this race where I believe that #1 Looking Out will either lose or win the race at the break. #2 Grand Mischief has abundant back class and her two starts at los alamitos (1win and 1 second) make this runner my top pick. Also using #6 Iva Attitude just because it seemed that in her last race she got an educational run over the track and could pop up with a good effort this time out.

Race 4: To close out the pick four play today I will go two deep. Top pick will be #3 Tac It To Heart who comes off a good second in a handicap last out and her win two back was impressive on paper and even better visually. I will also throw in the classy filly #4 Last to Check Him who is making her second start off a layoff and her last race was a troubled trip from the beginning.

$24 Early Pick Four: 5/1,4,6,7/1,2,6/3,4

Good Luck and lets get some winners.

A Fairytale In The Making?

Hola Amigos,

We have a good early pick four sequence highlighted by some fast two year holds debuting in the second race. It is gloomy and windy for tonight so lets get some winners and stay hot! No singles for me today in this early play as we have some good fields lined up. Lets get to it.

Race 1: two deep with #2 Givemesumcorona (two month freshening, trouble at the gate has cost him, god break watch out), and #8 Gimme All Ur Lovin (top pick, new trainer, drops to lowest, had been facing much tougher).

Race 2: two deep in this second leg with #1 Just A Fairy tale ( strong works, power full Paul Jones barn, enough said), and #4 Corona For Miros (top pick, consistent works, drawn between slow workers, love the sire who has been sending out precocious babies).

Race 3: two deep with the two favorites #1 Go Class Go (back to back wins, improving numbers, only sixth lifetime start, but she is filly facing the boys), #2 Slr Stevie Ray (top pick, classy 10year old win sharp win last out, too consistent to ignore).

Race 4: wide open race in my opinion so going five deep with #1 Flyin Kyle (fresh, drops in class), #2 Ocean Kisser (good second after erratic trip), #5 Corona City ( month and a half break will benefit, much talent but needs good break), #6 Working Girl (Paul Jones runner that is fresh, drops in class and goes for the owner of Los alamitos, enough said), and #7 La Plata Man (first off the claim, smart win last out, good efforts against tougher).

$40 Early Pick Four: 2,8/1,4/1,2/1,2,5,6,7

Good Luck!

Babies set to Shine and $19,044 Pick Six Carryover

Hola Amigos,

We start the week of racing here at Los Alamitos with a good nine race card which features 2-year olds making their debuts in races 5 and 7. Tonight's card also features a nice pick six carryover of $19,044 in the last six races which is expected to reach close to $50,000 in the pool. Remember that here at Los Alamitos all you need is a couple mid-priced horses and you are off to a great payout. Expecting some good weather and some good pools in the early and late pick fours so let's have some fun and get some winners. Let's get to it.

Race 1: I could not get away from the morning line favorite which is #7 I Told You Twice who comes off a good win against a similar field. This gelding has enough speed to stay close to the lead and his outside post should give him a good trip. Single.

Race 2: This second race is another race for the thoroughbreds going four and a half furlongs with a good competitive field of seven going to post. I will be going three deep with top pick being #1 Agility who comes back to Los Alamitos after running at Golden Gate. This runner had been facing tougher competition when last seen here and i expect some good speed from the rail. Also using #2 Highly Unusual who is coming first off the claim from Jim Hanson and has good speed and gets hot-riding Dionicio Navarro. Closing out my play will be #4 Sea Viper who goes for a new trainer and drops to the lowest competition.

Race 3: The key in this third race will be using the horses that will enjoy this longer distance of 400 yards. I will use #4 Calvary Scout (second off a layoff), #6 Scare Down (first off the claim, consistent, huge late kick), and Top pick #7 Runaway Corky ( first off claim, outside post, with a good break he could romp).

Race 4: This leg ends the early pick four and it also starts the pick six. I will single #2 Seattleinspiration who has been a real consistent filly in her last six starts with two wins and four seconds. I believe she has the speed and consistency to control this field.

Race 5: 2-year old fillies make their debut and the first three morning line choices seem to be the three runners that will win the race. I will take a stand and single # 1 Madam Prez who has broken fast and straight in both of her drills and i like the stride she showed late in her workouts. Well bred and well meant.

Race 6: This is a solid six horse field which starts the late pick four and i will go three deep with top pick  #2 Armyguy  who ran a huge effort running second last out after an over a year on the sidelines. Also throwing in #3 Paradigm Hawk who comes off a good third at the same level and #6 A Hot Check who was a very troubled third when favored last out when seen on February 19th at this same level and his outside post today can't hurt either.

Race 7: It is very hard to two seperate the top two morning line favorites in this race and i will take a stand and single #7 To Catch This Wagon. This gelding comes from a very good barn (Juan Aleman) and also a good sire (Pyc Paint Your Wagon) who's runners have been firing on their debuts.

Race 8: In my opinion this is the most wide open race of the night and i will use four of the six runners. #3 Whittier Girl (fast win), #4 Ronsepi ( two srtong back to back wins), #5 Hawkin Straw (just broke maiden after good debut, could improve again), and top pick #6 Shes Worth a Kiss (New barn, new rider, good workout).

Race 9: To Close out the night I will use two runners #3 Bd Cruiser (BIG dropper in class, huge effort last out after some trouble), and also using the first time starter to the outside #7 Royer First (two good workouts, could surprise).

$9 Early Pick Four Races One thru Four: 7/1,2,4/4,6,7/2

$48 Pick Six Race Four Thru Six: 2/1/2,3,6/7/3,4,5,6/3,7

$24 Late Pick Four Race Six Thru Nine: 2,3,6/7/3,4,5,6/3,7

Good Luck!

Full Fields Sunday

Hola Amigos,

We close out the week racing today at Los Alamitos with wide open competitive  fields. Early pick four looks difficult and it looks like it could bring a big payout. To spice up the card we have some good baby races on tap along with a nice $7,099 Pick six carry over that I will take a shot at. First, lets take a look at the early pick four. Lets get to it.

Race 1: The first race is for 2-year old colts and geldings making their debuts. I will be going two deep I'm this race with #2 Gold Flames of Fire who comes from a good win-early sire and both of his drills have been good and consistent. The low profile connections should give us some good odds. Top pick will be #9 Ill Be A Dasher who showed a visually impressive drill in his latest with a good stride late and his trainer is due to heat up. I also like the outside post to minimize trouble at the break.

Race 2: Two deep in this race with top pick #1 Hostile Reaction who can show good speed but in her last effort she stumbled badly out of the break costing her all chance. Show speed and hold on. To complement my top pick I will use the closer in this race which is #5 Princess Ryan who takes a big drop in class and gets the blinkers back on after not showing a good effort last out when racing without them.

Race 3: In this race for the 2-year old fillies making their debuts, I will use the three fillies that have shown some spice in their morning drills: #4 Blackberry Czech, #5 Joy Roses Eagle SA, #8 Tres Racer (top pick).

Race 4: We have a bottom level maiden claimer to close out the early pick four. I will use four horses in this race with #3 Chick on The Wire (back at best level, fresh off a small break, maintenance work in between), #6 Snowbound Jeffrey (good efforts but 16 time maiden trying to get a win, now or never), #7 Famous Place (new trainer, fresh, drops in class, two good works), #8 Fast Angels (fresh since July of '11, workout on march 3 jumps off the page, watch out).

$48 early pick four play: 2,9/1,5/4,5,8/3,6,7,8

Good Luck and lets get some winners!

Senior Saturday

Hola Amigos,

We have a good Saturday card on tap today that features one baby race and a small pick six carry over of over $3,000. I had a great score in yesterday's early pick four of over $3,600 on the $24 play. Yesterdays pool in the early pick four was the highest ever for a Friday with over $138,000 wagered. I expect a nice pool once again today with some good size fields assembled. Lets get to it.

Race 1: Three deep to start our play today with my top pick #1 Clm Last Chance who is taking a drop to her lowest level to date and is drawn next to a slow breaker which should give her a good chance to break good. Also using #3 Mummsie who ran a good effort off a long layoff and is only making her third lifetime start and can improve. To close out my play in this race I will also use #4 Tacitonahigh who has some good past efforts but is a long time maiden who just does not seem to have the will to win. Now or Never.

Race 2: Senior Saturday is the title because of this guy who is my single, #7 Our Senior Moments. I think he is just too fast for this field and too consistent. This guy lost a tough one in his last effort against a more tougher group and now goes first off the claim for a trainer that is hitting at 33% with that move. In addition is nice to see that this owner and trainer connection actually claimed back this runner after losing him a few races back.

Race 3: In this race I will use three horses. #2 Melanistic is making her second start and should improve with that debut under her belt and also gets the services of hot-riding Dionicio Navarro. My Top Pick will be #3 Laiken's Legacy who is making her third lifitime start and showed some good speed last time out which should have her on a clear lead down the back stretch. I also like the move back to original debut pilot. Also throwing in #7 Snooty La Rooty who shows down here after a debut up north at Golden Gate where she showed good speed but faded badly in the stretch. She will probably go off as the favorite so lets try to beat her.

Race 4: This leg concludes the early pick four and I will close my play with three runners. I will use the three runners that have shown to like this tricky distance of 330 yards and have shown late kicks in their efforts. Top pick is #2 She's Prime Time who really turned in an improved effort last out against a solid runner who returned to win again last night. Also using #6 Mai Corona who has been racing in some tough trials and now gets a good post to show her run. Closing out my play is #7 Kool To Be Me who is running consistently and has shown a good late kick that should be useful at this distance.

$27 Early Pick Four: 1,3,4/7/2,3,7/2,6,7

Good Luck and lets get some winners.
Stay tuned to my twitter feed for a Pick Six in race 4 and a late pick four in race 6.

Rainy Day for Baby Day

Hola Amigos,

With rain storms and thunder coming down pretty hard in much of the Southern California region, we expect a sealed wet track for tonight's racing at Los Alamitos. The week of racing begins today with a good nine race card featuring three races for the 2-year olds. Races 5 and 7 feature the fillies going to post while race 6 is for the colts and geldings going 300 yards. There are some great blood lines in many of those babies which should make for some great races in the second half of the card with a first post set for 7pm. I like both the early and late pick four today with a single in each sequence and some prices in the other legs. Let's get to it.

Race 1: I am going to single in this first race with #8 Legione. This gelding had a good debut two races back when breaking slow, rushing up to battle for lead and then getting tired in the lane. Improvement was expected last time out but his race was a little dull on paper deceiving to the eye. In his last race he never raced in a comfortable stride and showed no real will to relax and had no punch in the stretch. Today I like the order change back to debut pilot and expect a good trip from the outside post.

Race 2: Two deep for me in this second leg of the pick four with #7 Aurelia D who is coming first off the claim for C. Treece who is hitting at 37% with that move and gets the services of Ramon Guce who has ridden this filly well in past opportunities. Top pick will be #8 Sudden Quest who is also coming first off the claim for J. Hanson who is hitting at a 29% with that move and this filly comes into this race off a decent third place finish last out.

Race 3: This leg I will use three runners to cover my play. #3 Just Charmed comes off two good second place finishes against solid $5,000 claimers in fast times. This runner is a claim-back for owner Larry Chapple and Trainer Jim Hanson who lost this runner two races back. Top pick will be #5 Big City Slicker. This gelding is coming into this race off of two straight wins while going up the class ladder once again. His 21 flat and 44 flat speed makes him dangerous to catch especially if the track remains sealed. I will also be throwing in #7 Bev's Ex who comes from a sharp barn who is winning at a hefty 37% with their thoroughbred runners. Trainer Mario loza is also winning at a 29% rate when going first off the claim like he is doing here. There is no way to dismiss a sharp win last time out with 21 flat and 44 flat speed that he recorded when defeating a lower level of claimers. Dangerous.

Race 4: The early pick four sequence concluded with this field of bottom level claimers going 300 yards. I will go four deep in this race to close out my play. #1 My Queen Eileen (new hot rider, inside post), #3 Family Tude (tough trip last out when favored), #5 The King Coliman (good third last effort, similar race should win here), and #7 Bok The Great (new trainer, big layoff, two very good works for this level, dangerous at a price).

$24 Early Pick Four: 8/7,8/3,5,7/1,3,5,7

Race 6: The late Pick four begins with a field of 2-year old colts and geldings making their racing debuts. I am going four deep in this leg with my handicapping angles relying on consistency in their works, proven breeding lines, and lastly human connections. Using #2 Don Loncho, #3 Henoshersecrets, #4 Shifty, and #7 Wine Steward (top pick).

Race 7: Fillies making their debut here. Three deep to cover my play. #3 Sportiness Cartel, #4 The Cartel Straw, #6 Buy Buy (top pick, like the breeding and consistency in drills).

Race 8: Two deep in this race with top pick #1 Easeful Dinastia who comes off a sharp win where she earned her best speed figure to date. Her last two efforts have been her best and have both been from this same rail post. Also using #2 Tac Out who comes off a better than looked effort when lugging in when breaking from the rail post and then showed a good run when only beaten a neck. Watch out for a good effort at a price.

Race 9: To conclude our night of racing we have a solid group of straight maiden runners going 300 yards. I believe the key will be the 300 yard distance as I will single #4 Tabasco Special Dash. In his last effort he broke on top and had the lead every step of the way when getting beat at the end when going 330 yards. With a repeat of his last effort and the the cut back in distance, a winner's circle photo is expected.

$24 Late Pick Four: 2,3,4,7/3,4,6/1,2/4

Good Luck and Lets get some winners!

El Primero Del Año Derby up for Grabs

Hola Amigos,

We have a great night of racing here at Los Alamitos with the Grade 1 El Primero Del Año Derby closing out the card and the racing week (no Sunday racing). First and foremost I want to say congratulations to Mario Gutierrez, Doug O'Neill and Mr. Reddam for taking the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby across town with I'll Have Another. We hit the late pick four yesterday for a modest profit. I like both pick fours today and the pick six also. Early pick four play to follow with a pick six and late pick four play will be on my twitter feed. Let's get to it.

Race 1: I will go three deep in this opening leg. Using #2 Onest Cash who I believe is much better than his last race indicates after breaking last. Takes a small drop in class and his maiden win two back makes him my top choice. Also throwing in #5 Bumpin Bumpin is dropping in class and comes off troubled trip and also using #8 Excessive Chick on the ouside with good running lines in her past.

Race 2: Once again going three deep in this second leg with #4 Mothers Gift (top pick), #5 Coronas Fast Honey and #7 A Tempting Ocean.

Race 3: The key single in my pick four play comes in this race with #6 Loon Lost. This mare has been running cinsitently against top open competition and showing good efforts. Most of her opponents have been running in conditional spots and weaker competition. I love the outside post that should set for a perfect off the pace trip.

Race 4: Closing out the ticket will be #2 Bawdy (drops out of stakes and has shown talent before), #5 Nocona Lass (Top Pick, new trainer, 3yo debut, good workout) and #6 Ivlis (huge win last out, if repeats he will be long gone).

$27 Early Pick Four: 2,5,8/4,5,7/6/2,5,6

Good luck! Let's get some winners!
Stay tuned on the twitter feed for pick six and late pick four plays. @LosPonies

Shortened Stakes Weekend

Hola Amigos,

We start a short weekend ( Only Racing Friday and Saturday) of racing tonight here at Los Alamitos with the Grade 1 La Primer a Del Año Derby for 3yo fillies going 400 yards for a purse of $214,300 set as the last race on the card. In addition we have the first baby race of the year as 2yo fillies make their debut today in the 6th race of the evening. To add more spice to the card, we have top jockeys Ramon Guce and Dionicio Navarro returning to action from injuries. Good card on tap for what should be some competitive racing with some good prices to be had. Two pick four plays to follow. Lets get to it.

Race 1: This is a bottom level maiden race which will have a low priced favorite with #7 Agouti Go. I don't trust her and many of these runners are making second life time start which in my opinion is where many runners show vast improvement so I will press the All button and try to catch a price.

Race 2: I believe this is a two horse race between the two favorites so I will take as stand and single #6 Timberman. This gelding was making his first start since December last out and ran a good third despite a slow break while running out of ground when only beaten three-quarters of a length against a solid field. He gets a good outside post today with an extra 30 yards to work with. Single.

Race 3: I love #5 I Told You Twice in this spot. This gelding comes off his best lifetime Beyer speed figure in a race that was run in a solid final time for this level. Ran a decent third and now goes first off the claim for a barn that is winning at 28% percent with that move. Slight improvement gets this gelding to the winners circle. Single.

Race 4: Closing out the early pick four with a solid group of runners. I am going four deep to close out my play with #1 Standoffer, #5 Now What, #6 Cold Cristal (top pick), and #7 Look in at a Winner.

$32 Early Pick four play: All/6/5/1,5,6,7

Race 6: First Baby race of the year for 2yo fillies. Going to enjoy the race and just press the all button. Anything can happen.

Race 7: There are many things to like about my single in this race which is #2 Hidden Dash. Loved the win last out off a layoff in a good final time against a tough field. Earned her career best speed figure last out and seems to be primed for a repeat coming back at the same level.

Race 8: I Believe this is again a two horse race so I will once again take a stand and single instead of doubling my ticket. The single is #2 To Legacy With Love. Goes a for a new trainer that wins at 19% with new runners and this filly comes into the race with a sharp bullet workout and is making the her 3yo debut. Big improvement expected.

Race 9: The Grade 1 La Primera Del Año Derby. This race closes out the card with a good field of nine lining up at the gate. I believe there is three contenders that stand out above the rest in class and ability and I will use #1 Flame N Flash (top pick), #2 This Boogie Fires, and #5 Zoomdasher.

$21 Late Pick four Play: All/2/2/1,2,5

Good luck!

Lets have some fun and get some winners home.

Two Allowance Races Highlight Card

Hola Amigos,
Great night of racing today with a first post set for 5pm at Los Alamitos. Good Nine race card with two allowance races with some nice horses set to square off in the co-featured races of the night. Yesterday we had some great payouts in the early and late pick four considering there was some odds on favorites sandwiched in between. There are some favorites that I think we can beat in the pick six sequence and try to take down the pool in a small carry over. I will just list my top picks in each race with plays to follow. Lets get to it.

Race  3: 2,3,4
Race  4: 2,4,5

Race   8: 1,2,3
